Acupuncture

Acupuncture, a component of Oriental Medicine, is the placement of hair-thin needles placed at specific points throughout the body to balance the flow of energy (Qi). The placement of needles at specific points are along a pathway that corollate to the body’s organs.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy, another component of Oriental Medicine, is the placement of heated glass cups on the skin to create a suction. the suction created, helps to improve the blood flow in the area applied – facilitating healing.

The suction created by the cups expand and break open capillaries underneath the skin. Your body treats that area as an injury, sending more blood flow to the area stimulating the body’s natural healing process.

Oncology Acupuncture & Massage

Oncology Acupuncture and Massage are integrative therapies used to complement traditional cancer treatments like chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. Oncology Acupuncture and Massage are used to support cancer patients by addressing the side effects related to traditional treatments and overall wellbeing of the patient.

These therapies are generally considered safe when provided by trained practitioners experienced in working with cancer patients. It’s essential for individuals undergoing cancer treatment to consult with their oncology care team before starting any new complementary therapy.

Cosmetic Acupuncture and Microneedling

Cosmetic Acupuncture and Microneedling is a non-invasive holistic approach on aesthetic conditions of the patient. Similar to traditional acupuncture, cosmetic Acupuncture uses ultra thin needles to address aging concerns by targeting certain muscles and tissues in the face and neck to increase circulation, improve collogen and elastin production.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is not just for relaxing! Massage therapy has become an integral modality for mental and physical health. Massage: a general term used for the actions of rubbing, manipulating, and pressing on the skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments of the body. A massage session can range from light pressure (affecting the lymphatic and circulatory systems) to deep pressure (relieving muscular tension).

Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy or low light therapy as it is sometimes called, originally developed by Nasa, is a non-invasive treatment using red light to stimulate cellular activity in the body.

When applied to the body, red light is absorbed by the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin and stimulates mitochondrial activity. The increased mitochondrial activity accelerates ATP production; the energy needed to power our cells and body. Additionally, red light therapy stimulates collagen and elastin production. This allows red light therapy to provide powerful results for a wide range of conditions.

Testimonials

My wife, Deb, and I have benefitted from Nicole William’s Acupuncture services for at least 8-9 years. Beginning initially in her office and then after the onset of COVID in our downtown condo.

Nicole is well educated in the theory and history of acupuncture and is equally skilled in the practical application of her profession. She is methodologically calm, measured and straightforward. Her attitude is one of no nonsense as she goes about her business.

Nicole’s overall affect is one of a calming reassurance. I usually fall asleep within 5-10 minutes after Nicole administers the needles and I don’t reawaken until she returns and makes some noise. In fact, if I am in the same room when Nicole administers the needles to my wife I will tend to relax and fall asleep in sympathy then too.

I still experience the long term effects of spinal cord damage sustained in an accident almost 60 years ago. Acupuncture helps a lot in reducing levels of discomfort that periodically still cause me distress. Nicole is without exception the best acupuncturist I have experienced. She is an accomplished professional and I highly endorse and recommend her to you.

Nicole has changed my life! After a serious leg injury, a friend recommended DCompress Downtown after I had complained that nothing I tried was helping the pain and recovery from my injury. I had tried it all, but was open to suggestions and was skeptical because I am not a fan of needles. Nicole made me feel so comfortable and explained everything to me during the whole process. The first session was so impactful and helped with my pain and recovery time, that I haven’t looked back since and have been going to Nicole over 5+ years. Acupuncture has been the only procedure that has helped with a variety of health related issues. The location is always so clean and welcoming. Nicole and her staff are always very professional and helpful. I  have definitely recommended her services to family, friends and colleagues. If you haven’t tried acupuncture, now is the time, you won’t regret it!
